Short History of the Heuer Autavia
First launched in 1962, the Autavia was Heuer’s first wrist chronograph with a rotating bezel, originally designed for automotive and aviation timing (hence the name). By the late 1960s and 1970s, the Autavia became one of Heuer’s flagship sports watches, especially with the introduction of the Calibre 11/12 automatic chronographs. Favoured by racing drivers and enthusiasts, the Autavia remains one of the most collectible Heuer models today.
