Here we have a beautiful example of a 36mm 1970 Datejust with a black dial, fluted steel bezel and chronometer grade automatic movement.
This particular one has a black bezel, this is less common than the champagne dial versions, not rare but in recent years have become a little more collectable (as have black dials in general). The hands are original with some patination visible to the lume.
This has a screw down Oyster crown and case back. The case does not appear to have been polished heavily at all, only a light hand polish by us to clean and brighten up the steel.
We have also fitted a new old stock vintage 70s Rolex Datejust crystal so you have a scratch free genuine crystal.
We have fitted a vintage style suede grey leather strap with a steel buckle.
Water resistance is not guaranteed
This watch uses the Rolex Automatic Chronometer Cal 1570
This has 25 jewels and a power reserve of 48 hours.
Frequency of 19,800
This watch is in overall very good original condition. The crystal is scratch free and the case has only light wear. The dial is clean with no obvious ageing other than the hands and lume material.
