Here we have a stunning Omega Seamaster De Ville, with a 34mm black dial and stainless steel monocoque case. The Seamaster De Ville range was introduced in the early 60s and are best known for their one piece cases, designed to limit the weak points in a watch where water can potentially enter. Omega made the Seamaster for a few years with one piece cases before they named the range 'Seamaster DeVille'. This can be seen as a transitional watch since the De Ville line became it's own range later in the 60s but began as this watch.
This example has a very clean black dial with an applied Omega logo and sharp white printing. The lugs are straight and relatively short, this matches the slim case profile well.
The case back displays the Seamaster Hippocampus logo and has a polished finish.
We have fully serviced this watch and fitted a black croc grain leather strap.
This watch is in fine condition with no obvious signs of wear to the dial, crystal or case. Any marks to the face are just dust or light smudges to the crystal.
This watch uses the automatic cal 552. The serial number dates this to 1961 though these watches were produced from 1962-1966, It may be that Omega used a movement it had in stock for a few months or the movement was replaced with a slightly earlier one. Either way this is the correct movement for this reference.
This movement has 24 jewels and a 50 hour power reserve.
Frequency of 19,800.bph.
