Here we have a stunning Omega Chronostop, with a very clean dial, case and original mesh bracelet. The chronostop was introduced in the late 60s as a drivers watch, with a number of variations made.

The best way to explain the quality of the cal 865, is that it is a simplified version of the Cal 861, made famous by the Speedmaster line. The obvious differences being the lack of registers on the dial and faster reset of the chronograph hand.

The design is quite different to any other Omegas with single pusher' chronograph style oval case, orange second hand and grey dial. Interestingly the original adverts Omega made for this piece showed this being worn on the inside of the wrist, as this  makes a watch easier to read while gripping a steering wheel.

The bracelet is an original Omega mesh style, these were offered on mesh straps and leather 'Rally' style ones too.The mesh bracelet has a long polished clasp which gives room for a lot of adjustment (as there are no removable links). Screw down case back and polished bezel.
