Here we have a fine Longines Flagship dating to 1962 with a 33mm 9kt yellow gold case, original dial showing patina and running on a quality automatic movement,

This watch represents a classic 60s dress watch design with applied gold baton and numeral hour markers and lume filled sword hands on a brushed silver dial. The 'Flagship' range was first introduced in 1957 and although technically similar to previous cases and movements the 'Flagship' branding was essentially introduced as a marketing push. In the 50s many brands began to introduce different ranges os of watches to appeal to different markets e.g. Rolex's 'Submariner' and Omegas Seamaster and Constellation lines. This expanded Longines range of watches (the Conquest was already in circulation).

This example has an original dial showing ageing dots and general patination. The gold case has been given a light hand polish to ensure the gold is bright.

The case is 33mm, average size for an early 60s dress watch and has a little more presence on thw wrist, mainly due to the polshed gold finish and thickness due to the automatic movement.

The case back is screw down.

This watch comes fitted on a brown leather strap with a gold plated buckle.
