Here we have an interesting vintage Longines with a number of features which are typical of the 1950s case designs and also shares the look of one of Longines most successful lines, the 'Coquest'. You could almost refer to this as a 'Pre Conquest' design.

The dial has a lot of subtle features such as a cross air, alternating hour marker designs, 'T' marks on the minute track and a 'pie pan' shape to the dial. This is completely original and shows some light even patination.

The gold applied hour markers are a diamond shape and with 4 sides these tend to catch the light well and give quite a striking look.

The gold filled 34mm case has a stepped bezel, which holds some long curved lugs. These long lugs tend to give the watch a slightly larger feel on the wrist than the 34mm diameter would suggest.

The case back consists of two parts, the centre part which fits into the case, then a retaining ring which screws down tight, this was likely an idea to improve water resistance but not commonly used.

This watch also uses the same movement as the early 'Conquest' models the 19AS, which is arguably one of Longines finest vintage automatics. This has a replacement gold plated crown and a new black croc grain leather strap with gold plated buckle.
