Here we have a charming example of a 50's dress watch made by the English watch brand, J. W. Benson. J. W. Benson have a long history (dating back to 1847) and were watchmakers to Queen Victoria and the admirality for a number of years. The watch manufacturing factory was bombed during WWII and from then on high end Swiss watch movements were imported in and retailed by the company, This example uses a Swiss AS movement inside a Dennison gold case with curved fancy lugs, giving this a very dressy, well finished look.

The dial is original and shows a light even patina with gold dauphine hands and applied arabic numeral markers. A subtle minute track borders the dial.

The case measures 34mm which is a standard size for a 50s dress watch though due to the fancy lugs and deeper case it tends have a larger feel on the wrist.

We have fitted a new brown leather croc grain strap to this watch.
