Stainless Steel

Here we have a watch from a brand with a great watchmaking history and a brand tat also offers very good value for money. Eterna are well known amongst collectors but do not carry the status that Rolex, Omega etc carry so provide very good honest value for money.

Interestingly the watch movements used in so many watches nowadays are ETA movements which was originally a subsidiary company of Eterna (1932).

They made various military pieces for the British military (such as the WWW Dirty Dozen watches and the 'Majjetek' for the Czech air force. In 1948 they then made major advancements in automatic watches with the 'Eterna-Matic' movement which uses 5 ball bearings strategically placed to limit friction, increase efficiency and reduce wear ultimately improving accuracy and overall performance of the timepiece.

This model became so popular it became the corporate logo for the company as seen on the dial of this model.

As you can see this brand certainly earns it's place in watchmaking heritage and in our opinion, these vintage Eterna-Matics are hugely underrated.

This model has a super clean matte silver dial with polished steel baton markers and a bordered date window at 3. The Stainless steel case measures 34mm and has a screw down case back and straight lugs.

The Kontiki was named after the boat that was used in an expedition to prove Polynesians actually came from Cuba, in 1958.

This particular piece is in stunning condition and is a nice dress watch, which is actually quite weighty but does not sit too high off the wrist. The lugs are turned down and the steel has a polished finish.

We have fitted a quality black croc grain leather strap.
